H1N1 stocks – telling the dreamers from the doers. I am not going to call any stock a scam in relation to H1N1 right now; but let’s be honest. Some are more dreamers than doers when it comes to fighting H1N1. Let’s look at a few of these.

Is a market collapse coming? You are starting to hear the fear mongers saying “October is coming – get ready.” My take on this. I say – be cautious. More details with Sully today.

Home Depot, Inc. / HD

Others are saying sell it. Let’s get real. If you buy a new home, you need HD. If you decide to hang on to your home, you need HD.

Panic could creap into the markets as October hits. If you see panic, and you holding HD, you might need to liquidate. All retail stocks will take a hit as the tide goes out. I just throw that in as I will hold no retail if I see the markets slipping.

QUOTING… Meanwhile, the National Association of Realtors said the pending home sales index, which tracks contract activity, increased for the sixth straight month by 3.2% to 97.6 in July — its highest level since June 2007.

Although the data were largely brushed off by the broader market, housing stocks got a boost, with KB Home(KBH Quote), Pulte Homes(PHM Quote),Lennar(LEN Quote) and D.R. Horton(DHI Quote) all rising more than 2%.
